Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, an autonomous research institution 
under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, invites applications for 
the following posts:

(3) TECHNICAL ASSISTANT (INSTRUMENTATION)

JUNIOR ACCOUNTS OFFICER :   The Junior Accounts Officer is required to work with the Accounts
Officer and supervise book keeping, finalization of accounts, handling bills, bank reconciliation statement, audit
related functions etc and carry out any other assignment given from time to time.
Pay Band and Grade Pay: PB-2 Rs.9,300-34,800  GP: Rs.4,800
No. of posts: 01 (UR)
Age: Below 45 years
Qualification and Experience: Graduate from a recognized university. Preference will be given to 
those with a degree in Commerce. At least 8-10 years experience in the relevant field with not less than
5 years in the Grade Pay of Rs.4,200/- or equivalent or minimum of 2 years in Rs.4600/- GP in accounts/finance
department, in a Central Government establishment, preferably a research institution. Familiarity with double entry
system of accounting, knowledge of Central Government Rules and Regulations is essential.
Candidate with an additional qualification in the accounts/finance related field and hands on experience in 
accounting software, finalization of accounts will be preferred.


SENIOR PERSONAL ASSISTANT :The Sr. PA is expected to independently handle correspondence,
organise diaries, deal with appointments, manage telephone calls and enquiries, arrange travel logistics, record
minutes of meetings and carry out any other assignments given from time to time.
Pay Band and Grade Pay:Rs. 9,300-34,800 GP: Rs.4,600

Age: below 45 years
Qualification and Experience: Bachelors Degree or equivalent from a recognized University, Senior Grade
English Shorthand and Senior Grade English Typewriting and audio transcription skills with 6-8 years experience
as PA/Sr. Stenographer to Director or equivalent level in a Central Government Establishment, preferably a
research institution, in the Grade Pay not less than Rs.4200 or equivalent.

A three year Diploma in Secretarial Practice from a Government recongised institution with audio transcription
skills and having 10-12 years experience as PA/Sr. Stenographer to Director or equivalent level in a Central
Government Establishment, preferably a research institution, in the Grade Pay not less than Rs.4200 or equivalent.

Candidate with an additional Course in relevant field with excellent organizational and written/communication skills
will be preferred.


TECHNICAL ASSISTANT (INSTRUMENTATION) :  The Technical Assistant is required to (i) maintain
the scientific instruments and liaise with the Annual Maintenance contractors (ii) Render assistance in sample preparation, data analysis etc and carry out any other assignment given from time to time.
Pay Band and Grade Pay: Rs.9,300-34,800 GP: Rs.4,600

Age: Below 30 years
Qualification and Experience: A Master's Degree in Science (Physics or Electronics) or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Instrumentation or Electrical & Electronics) from a recognized University with 3-4 years experience in handling and
maintaining sophisticated instrumentation facility such as SEM/EDAX, TEM, MBE, NMR, HRXRD, XPS, AFM etc..
Candidate with a specialized course/diploma in instrumentation and experience in handling sophisticated instrument
facility in a reputed research institution will be preferred.



JUNIOR ADMIN ASSISTANTS : The Junior Admin Assistants are expected to handle files and correspondence
  and discharge a variety of administrative duties assigned from time to time.
Pay Band and Grade Pay: Rs.5,200-20,200 GP: Rs.1,900
No. of posts: 04 (ST:1; OBC-2; UR-1)
Age: Below 27 years
Qualification and Experience: 12th Class or equivalent from a recognized Board or University with typing speed
not less than 35 w.p.m. in English using computer with minimum 2-3 years experience as administrative support staff
in a reputed organization/ Central Government establishment.

A Degree from a recognized University  [OR] Diploma in Secretarial Practice from a recognized institution with
typing speed not less than 35 w.p.m. in English using computer. Candidates are required to have minimum of 1-2 
years experience as administrative support staff in a reputed organization/Central Government establishment.
Knowledge of office related computer applications including document generation, web browsing, etc, is
essential.
Candidates adept at multi-tasking with good verbal/written communication skills are preferred. Familiarity with
Central Government Rules and Regulations will be an added advantage.



DRIVER (JUNIOR) The Driver is required to work in shifts depending on the assignment.
Pay Band and Grade Pay:Rs.5,200-20,200 GP: Rs.1,900

Age: Below 35 years

Qualification and Experience: Appeared for tenth standard/SSLC from a recognized State/Central
board and possess valid commercial LMV/HMV license with at least 2-3 years of experience in driving
motor vehicles.Candidate familiar with motor vehicle mechanism and having multilingual skills will be preferred.



HELPERS :The Helpers are expected to handle all the office equipment like reprographic facility, fax and audio
-visuals. General assistance in office, like movement of office files/registers, dusting/cleaning of equipment, storage
 area and carry out any other assignment given from time to time.

Render general assistance in laboratories like washing, cleaning and sterilization of lab wares, maintenance of
general laboratory cleanliness, dusting/wiping of equipment, work places and shelves housed in the laboratories/office, 
monitoring proper disposal of laboratory wastes and carry out any other assignment given from time to time.

Pay Band and Grade Pay:Rs.5,200-20,200 GP: Rs.1,800
No. of posts: 05 (ST-1; OBC-3; UR-1)
Age: Below 35 years
Qualification and Experience: Tenth standard/SSLC passed from a recognized State/Central Board with
2-3 years experience in laboratories/offices of reputed organisations.
Experience in the relevant field in an educational institution/research establishment, is preferred.
