Visva-Bharati, a Central University, a central autonomous body and an “institution of national importance” invites applications for recruitment to the post of Finance Officer (Vittadhikari). The University earlier sought applications for the post of Finance Officer (vide Adv’t No 1/2010). Since a considerable time has passed, the University invites fresh applications for the post.  However, those who applied against  Adv’t No. 1/2010 will be automatically considered for this recruitment process. As such, they need not apply afresh against this advertisement. They may send updated bio-data, if they wish, with necessary supporting documents (attested).

1. Name of post, place of posting, retirement age, tenure etc.
Finance Officer, Visva-Bharati, at Santiniketan. Finance Officer is a statutory and tenure post. Retirement age for the post is 62 years. Tenure of the post is five years or till the incumbent attains retirement age, whichever is earlier. Tenure is renewable for further terms, at the discretion of the University, subject to the retirement age.



2. Pay scale, benefits. :  
PB-4, Rs. 37,400-67,000 (along with Grade Pay of Rs.10,000), CDA, HRA, NPS or GPF-cum-Gratuity-cumPension, GSLI, re-imbursement of medical expenses for self & dependants, LTC for self & dependants,
Children’s Education Allowance, Transport/ Conveyance Allowance etc, according to  Gov’t of India / UGC / Visva-Bharati rules/ orders etc, as  applicable.

3. Eligibility:
a. Age:  Ordinarily below 55 years. (Relaxable on the recommendation of selection committee).
b. Essential Educational Qualification and Experience :
Masters degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade “B” in the UGC seven point scale.  At least 15 years experience as Assistant Professor in the AGP of Rs. 7000 & above or with 8 years’ service in the AGP of Rs 8000 & above, including as Associate Professor along with experience in educational administration.  
       OR
Comparable experience in research establishment and /or other institutions of higher education.
       OR
15 years of administrative experience, of which 8 years shall be as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post (having the revised pay scale of Rs. 15600-39100 +  Grade Pay Rs. 7600) in the field of financial management (audit/accounts/treasury/budgeting etc).
